SUMMARY:Floating Key: Link Up
DESCRIPTION:Floating Key acknowledges that this event takes place on stolen and occupied land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We recognize Black Indigeneity at the epicenter for which the movement operates. We recognize that sovereignty was never ceded.  \nThis event serves as an opportunity for Bla(c)k and PoC folks within the Floating Key community to reconnect with one another\, share ideas for collaboration\, and the continuance of discourse stimulated from the launch.  \nDuring this event\, we will begin production on our Floating Key video series that will focus on individual responses to discourse surrounding Bla(c)k elevation\, Indigeneity\, and the global context for which they exist and operate. There will also be two photography stalls set for portraits that will be exclusively released to those in attendance.  \nA sound system will be set up for a jam session\, and we welcome musicians and poets to come and workshop new material. Musical acts TBA.  \nSmall bites will be provided at Afro Hub\, however\, we do encourage all in attendance to contribute to their dining experience.  \nWe are blessed to have Ruth Ruach\, Atong Atem\, and Laura Ferdinand on board as our photographers and videographer for the evening. Consent and release forms will be provided at the event for those who are interested in being a part of our video series.  \nThe dates for upcoming Floating Key events will be announced on this evening\, and there will be opportunity for all to be involved if they choose.  \n**Please note that entry is open to Bla(c)k and PoC folks. We ask that non Bla(c)k and PoC folks respect the intention of this event. If you believe any of your Bla(c)k or PoC peers would benefit from the link up\, please do not hesitate to invite them.  \nThere is no charge for attendance.
